Stovall's Space Age Inn Stovall's themed motels were a fixture in the Disneyland area. Most of their themed elements are now gone, but a few remain. Dramatic windows evoke French architect Le Corbusier. Starburst mirrors in the lobby add character. The lobby light fixtures were removed recently. |

Cosmic Age Lodge The outer walls glowed at night and the interior looked like the set of a late-fifties sci-fi movie. Part of the Gleaming the Cube (1989) -- a non-sci-fi movie -- was filmed here. |

Space Age Lodge A flying saucer hovers over the lobby and another one tops the sign out front. Among many other notable googie features are murals of astronauts and spacecraft. |

Little Boy Blue Motel This motel has an interesting geometric facade with
flagcrete accents obscured by paint. |
Magic Lamp Motel The sign, which was the last remaining googie element of the Magic Lamp, was removed in early 1999. This motel was part of a larger Middle Eastern exotica trend that coincided with the Space Age. |
Magic Carpet Motel Next door to the Magic Lamp Motel, the Magic Carpet also lost its sign in late 1999 as part of the "revitalization" of the Anaheim Resort area. Versions of this same sign appear in front of numerous motels built during the Space Age. |

Samoa Motel The Samoa still stands just east of Harbor Blvd., but the tiki
and neon signs that once graced its enterance are now gone. The tiki
once appeared on the cover of a Hawaiian music LP. |
