Bill Griffith on Photographing Diners
As a fan of "Zippy the Pinhead,"
I was thrilled when artist Bill Griffith began using my photos of googie as
settings for his comic strip.
The Baltimore Sun offered this excellent description of the strip: "Nuanced, full of pop-cultural references, non-sequiturs and social satire; a real comic for grown-ups."
I
hope you enjoy these examples of Zippy's off-kilter encounters with googie
architecture in Southern California.
